READING COMPREHENSION AND CRITICAL THINKING   TEXTBOOK TITLE DESCRIPTION Beginning Reading Practices 1993 For beginning level ESL learners. Offers instruction and written activities that will lead to a better understanding of the basic structure of the sentence, subject matters, main ideas, and details. Reading for Comprehension 1994 Text contains articles about real-life people, unusual facts, and important events. At end of article, students are asked questions that test their comprehension of the article. Reading for the Workplace Success Text teaches students a systematic approach to solving business problems that require reading. Reviews reading and vocabulary-acquisition strategies and presents reading skills in a general business context using performance-based instructional design. Regents Competency Test in Reading 1993 Text reviews reading skills such as main idea, finding the facts, cause and effect, sequence, comparison and contrast, and making inferences.
